Inflammatoire darmziekten (IBD)
Vitaz (the Sint-Niklaas hospital group that absorbed the former AZ Nikolaas) runs an IBD service within its gastroenterology department. Per the hospital's IBD page the team is made up of seven gastroenterologists and an IBD nurse, and it offers the biologic and small-molecule therapies used in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Nutrition nurses and dietitians support care, with access to other specialties for complications outside the gut.
