Spezialambulanz für Morbus Crohn

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology division at AKH Wien runs a dedicated Spezialambulanz für Morbus Crohn at Leitstelle 7i for chronic inflammatory bowel disease, covering acute and chronic complications, unclear cases and surgical-indication assessment via a fortnightly interdisciplinary board with radiology and surgery. Disease monitoring uses faecal calprotectin home testing and drug-level determination for the main medications. A separate Studienambulanz Chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankungen runs roughly ten trials for patients with active, often therapy-resistant Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
