Odense University Hospital's medical gastroenterology department (Afdeling for Medicinske Mavetarmsygdomme S) is home to a dedicated inflammatory bowel disease group, Forskergruppen for Inflammatoriske Tarmsygdomme (IBD Research), covering the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of chronic IBD (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis).
