Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) Unit
The IBD Unit sits within the hospital’s Digestive Diseases Institute and works as one team of gastroenterologists, digestive-system surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, gynaecologists, nurses, a dietitian and a psychologist. Its stated aim in drug treatment is to hold the disease down over the long term, including in the most complex situations, and where surgery is needed it is bowel-sparing and sphincter-sparing.
