IBD Center — Centro Medico Chirurgico per le Malattie Infiammatorie Croniche dell’Intestino
The IBD Center treats adults with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, with a gastroenterology team and a colorectal surgery team that manage the same patients together and decide jointly whether and when to operate. Medical treatment covers mesalazine, steroids, immunosuppressants, biologic drugs and oral small molecules, with dedicated endoscopy and intestinal-ultrasound sessions for monitoring. The surgical side runs from day-case procedures for perianal disease through to ileo-anal pouch surgery, with specialist stoma nurses and a nurse case manager afterwards.
