Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Centre

SSMC's IBD Centre provides holistic management by a multidisciplinary IBD team, from first consultation and specialised endoscopy through a personalised care plan and ongoing monitoring. Alongside drug treatment it runs group education sessions, counselling on advanced targeted therapy, IBD-specific dietary therapy for active disease and dietary management in remission, and a pre-conception counselling clinic for women whose care plans are drawn up with the high-risk obstetrics, neonatology and pharmacy teams. It names a director for the centre and holds clinics on the first floor of the clinic building.
