The hepato-gastroenterology department at the Grand Hôpital de Charleroi treats digestive-tract, liver and pancreas conditions and runs a MICI clinic for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. A multidisciplinary team of gastroenterologists, digestive surgeons, radiologists, nutritionists, stoma therapists and psychologists provides care, using minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery and aiming to reduce ostomy placement where possible. The department reports around 8,000 colonoscopies per year.
