Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service
A dedicated IBD team within gastroenterology at Derriford Hospital. Four of the department’s eleven nurse practitioners specialise in inflammatory bowel disease, and a multidisciplinary clinic runs each Friday giving access to nurse, consultant, surgeon, dietitian and registrar. The service provides intravenous biologic drugs, runs a direct telephone helpline for patients, and coordinates care through weekly meetings and a monthly IBD MDT.
